About this property

Welcome to Gilbert Inn

Housed within a refined 1892 Victorian mansion, Gilbert Inn offers a cozy adults-only bed-and-breakfast experience in Seaside, Oregon. This historic property combines an elegant, antique atmosphere with modern comforts such as free Wi-Fi and free parking. Some guests appreciate the preserved woodwork and original décor, which add character to the intimate rooms, although the building’s older design means some rooms may be smaller and occasionally carry typical historic quirks.

Located just a few minutes’ walk from Seaside Aquarium and the oceanfront promenade along Seaside Beach, the inn is well positioned for visitors interested in exploring the shore and nearby natural landmarks such as Ecola State Park and Haystack Rock. The property’s proximity to local attractions and an accessible bus stop makes it a practical choice for those looking to enjoy the outdoors and coastal activities.

Facilities include a restaurant with paid breakfast options and a communal fire pit, valued features by guests who enjoy a quiet evening gathering spot. The inn welcomes pets for an additional fee, catering well to travelers with dogs. However, air conditioning, a fitness center, and airport shuttle services are not available on site, which may be a consideration for some visitors.

Guest feedback highlights the friendly and helpful staff as well as the convenient parking and clean rooms. While many praise the ambiance and location, a few noted concerns about maintenance and privacy, reflecting the challenges of dating back to an older building. Overall, Gilbert Inn suits visitors seeking a charming, adults-only retreat close to the beach with a historic feel and pet-friendly policy.

I stayed in the Emma room and it was gorgeous. Super cozy and the woodwork in the room is stunning. The building has so much history and it’s incredible seeing how well it is preserved. The location is perfect and parking is a breeze. The free breakfast is a huge plus. The staff are kind and welcoming.

Sweet little Inn. The house is a cool antique with alot of original decor. The ocean is just a few steps away and we could see it out our windows. Bed was nice, shower was nice. Room was small, it is in an old house, but the setup felt plenty spacious with nice chairs for relaxing in to read a book. Having breakfast ready downstairs was a cool addition.

Needs a little work but still a nice place. I didn't care for the peep holes in the bedroom though. The corner of the slate on the window shade was broken so that you can view the bed from the outside. The door shade (rear door) was set so that there would be a half inch gap to see in. Creepy. I also didn't know it was haunted until I was woke up by repeated banging on my front door. It kept up for a while as I didn't realize it was my door at first. When I got to the door it stopped. I looked out and no one was there. I didn't hear anyone run away and there was no place to hide that fast. In the morning the service was okay but the breakfast wasn't much to talk about. The location is excellent though and good places to eat are only a couple blocks away. The beach is also very close. I would come again just for that alone. There were some misspellings. The robes were marked robs and the welcome note was a little off. The people were nice though and the building was beautiful. They kept a fire pit going as well which was nice. There are a few repairs needed but nothing huge. Both coffee packets were decaf so I was very disappointed when I woke up. Luckily a coffee shop is near.

We stayed in the Alexandre room and it was awesome. It was very clean and comfortable, and learning about the history of the building was a real highlight. We could hear other rooms using the plumbing (not sure if that's true in all rooms?) but everyone seemed respectful of that because it got quiet by 10ish and stayed quiet all night. Breakfast was self serve: eggs, sausage, biscuits, bagels, basic fruits, yogurt, coffee, orange juice, milk, and a waffle iron. There was a $25 dog fee, and my dog loved the stay too. An easy walk to the promenade, and like others have said, the parking was super convenient. Make sure you check in before the front desk staff leave for the night! The day we stayed that was 7pm. There's no self-check in option. If you're like me and had never stayed in a historic BnB, it was a really cool first! I highly recommend. :)

This place is amazing! It's literally a piece of History! You can learn about the history and stay in one of the actual rooms in the manor. Sophia at the front desk was amazing and she was so wonderful to explain the history as well as hook us up on the s'mores fire pit thank you Sophia for a wonderful time! We can't wait to visit you again at the Gilbert inn!
